Led by ELL Director, Katerina Fenster, BHS is the  # 1  school in Europe for English language learning.

ELL is the "English Language Learner" program at BHS. designed for non-native English speakers developed by Katerina.  Students in the ELL department learn to speak, read and write in English.  Moreover, ELL students receive adapted subject courses in English that match their English level.

​

Another important reason why the ELL department at BHS is  #1  in Europe is because our ELL students are also culturally, socially and academically integrated with all the native English speaking BHS students, creating an amazing international community and experience unlike any other school in the world.​

 

At BHS, we welcome non-native English speaking students who want to learn in English and be in a community with native English speakers and international students.

 

BHS is also unique because we are the only secondary school in Barcelona that accepts students for admissions with a beginner level of English as part of our commitment of having the most internationally diverse school in the world and for our students to truly be global citizens.
