Advanced Placement Exam Center

Barcelona High School is the AP Exam Center for Europe, approved by the College Board, for both BHS students and non-BHS students.  BHS is the only school in Europe that offers every AP Exam.  Therefore, even if you are not a BHS student, you can take any AP Exam here with BHS.

Enrollment begins in September.  Final deadline to register is March 1st.

 

AP Exam Fees and Registration Dates for Non-BHS students:

400€ - September 1st to October 31st

500€ - November 1st to March 1st

​Advanced Placement courses are the US version of IB courses and A levels in the British system.  Indeed, Advanced Placement can be better for university admissions than IB schools in Barcelona in some cases.

 

BHS offers AP classes for free as part of its curriculum, or for a fee for non-BHS students.

​

AP courses are designed to prepare high school students for the rigors of university-level coursework.  Elite universities in the world normally require AP courses for students who graduate with an American High School Diploma.

 

In the American university system, AP courses are considered university-level classes.  Therefore, students who receive passing scores on AP tests can also earn credit for completion of American university courses while still in high school.

For BHS students, AP courses are included in the tuition fees excluding obligatory books, materials and exam fees.

 

AP courses are also available individually for non-BHS students for a fee of 3000€ per course (in-person teacher) or 2500€ per course (online self-led)

+ 500€ matriculation fee  or  + 1000€ matriculation for 2 or more courses. 

 

For non-BHS students, all fees include 2 semesters.

Please note, in-person AP classes are taught by a teacher in-person at BHS.  However, online AP courses are 100% self-led online learning and do NOT have a teacher online.
